The Addington Fund is delighted to announce that HRH The Countess of Wessex GCVO has become the Fund’s new Patron, taking over from Lord Iliffe who has decided to step down after 14 years in the role.

Addington Fund Chairman Peter Jinman said: “We would like to thank Lord Iliffe for his years of dedicated service to The Fund and we are absolutely thrilled that The Countess of Wessex has accepted our request to become our new Patron. When we knew we were going to need a new Patron, The Countess was the unanimous choice of both the staff and Trustees and we are really looking forward to working with Her Royal Highness on this exciting new chapter for the charity.”

CEO of the Addington Fund Bill Young commented: “During our initial discussions with The Countess, Her Royal Highness expressed a wish to be actively involved in the progression of Addington and we are delighted that she will be part of our next stage. I Her Royal Highness has a real understanding of agriculture and rural communities and the challenges they face and it is a privilege to have her support to the charity.”

The Countess visited the Addington Fund stand at the Westmorland County Show on Thursday 9th September 2021, and was a true delight to be around. She was introduced to the Addington staff that were there and had in depth knowledge about the Fund and what our main purpose and tasks were within the industry.

We are truly excited to have HRH The Countess of Wessex join our charity, making our 20th anniversary year even more special, and we look forward to the many years ahead with her representing our cause.
