Unique and exciting opportunity available
We have been asked to publicise this housing opportunity on behalf of Steph and Ike at Blaydon Burn Farm, please read on for more detail.
They are in search for a couple who are looking for a new, unique and exciting opportunity to get a foothold into the agricultural sector.
Blaydon Burn Farm is a 55-acre smallholding comprising grazing pasture and 26 acres of woodland just outside the city boundaries of Newcastle. Ike and Steph, the owners of the farm, are currently running a small beef and lamb enterprise and a campsite offering a ‘wild camping’ experience within their woodland.
They run other events on the farm and are involved in several educational projects which welcome visitors to the farm throughout the year. There are several out-buildings which are part converted for other recreational activities and provide exciting opportunities with the right vision and entrepreneurial direction.
There is a two-bedroom cottage alongside the main farmhouse where Ike and Steph live and this accommodation is being offered at a peppercorn rent for the right tenants to join them in the development of their farm.
The right candidates
Ideally this will suit a couple rather than an individual.
You will be looking for a challenge and have ideas of how to improve and expand the farm portfolio.
You will have a great work ethic and be committed to putting time into future developments of the farm and set up new enterprises in conjunction with the owners.
You will have another income off-farm to be able to support yourselves with living costs whilst joint ventures are scoped out, developed and launched.
