Martin Redfearn FIAgrM
Martin is Chair of the Addington Governance and Resource Committee and a member of both the Marketing and Fundraising Committee, and the Forage Aid Grants Committee
As well as his roles at Addington, Martin is a trustee with rural skills provider LANTRA, a member of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society’s Charitable Activities Committee and a regular presenter at training courses run by the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants. He is a recent past trustee of both the Royal Agricultural Society of England and the East of England Agricultural Society. He was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Agricultural Management in 2009.
Having studied agriculture and business management at Seale Hayne College in Devon, Martin spent over 20 years working throughout the UK in farm business and related industry consultancy. He joined Barclays Bank in 1995 as Regional Agricultural Manager in East Anglia.
Geographical and other responsibilities grew over time, culminating in him being appointed National Head of Agriculture in 2010. He retired from Barclays in 2015.
Martin is passionate about Addington’s work. “In my capacity as Regional Agricultural Manager for Barclays in East Anglia I was closely involved in supporting the pig industry through the Classical Swine Fever outbreak in 2000, and more widely during Foot and Mouth the following year. I was therefore keenly aware of the tremendous support that Addington provided during these crises - and has done subsequently.”
