Richard Maunder BSc (Hons), FIAgrM, CertIOD, ARAgS
Richard is a Trustee member on the Governance and Resource Committee.
Richard is now semi-retired after more than 30 years in the commercial and charitable sectors. Following a Management and Economics degree at Cardiff University, he spent 2 years working for a London firm of accountants. Returning to Devon, Richard joined the family business Lloyd Maunder Ltd in commercial and operational roles, and was joint Managing Director when the business was sold in 2008 to 2 Sisters Food Group. During this period he was a member of the Farm Animal Welfare Council for 9 years. Richard subsequently spent 10 years with the Devon County Agricultural Association as Secretary and Chief Executive leaving in February 2022.
Richard is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of the Art or Mistery of Butchers of the City of London, and a Liveryman of the Incorporation of Weavers, Fullers and Shearman at Tuckers Hall, Exeter. Richard has been a Member of the Farmers Club since 1998, Honorary Treasurer for 5 years to December 2021, and elected Vice Chairman for 2023.
Richard and wife Jo live on a small holding in the Blackdown Hills with their horses, sheep, chicken, dogs and cats. They have 3 daughters who have left home and are in full time work/further education.
Richard remains a non-executive Director of LM Property Holdings and Westpoint Centre (Devon) Ltd, and brings his commercial and charitable experience of working with a Trustee body to his own role as a Trustee of the Addington Fund.
