Winners of the 2019 Devon Farm Business Awards announced

Once again, the Devon Farm Business Awards didn’t fail to entertain. With just over 200 people enjoying the evening filled with fantastic food, wine and well-deserved category winner celebrations. Those who attended dug deep with generous bids on our fantastic prizes and the awards ceremony raised £3,400 through the raffle and auction lots alone.

We cannot thank those enough who donated prizes, entered our categories, nominated their family, friends and colleagues and supported our awards evening until the very end. With continuous support throughout the awards from our category sponsors and the general public, we can now help more farmers in need throughout the county of Devon.

Many thanks to our main sponsors, Stephens Scown for their continuous support throughout the making of the awards and for doing such a great job in presenting the category winners on the night. A huge thank you to our category sponsors for their support and for investing so much time into judging and picking the lucky winners. We’d also like to thank you for believing in the importance of the Farm Business Awards and taking part in something so crucial: supporting our charity and supporting our British farmers.

This year, Mark Neason reminded us of how unique and sentimental to the people of Devon The CAAV John Neason Diversification Award is. He presented the audience with a lovely speech which highlighted his late father’s contribution to Devon agriculture. With that in mind, a huge congratulations to Luke and Emily Knight, Knights Farm for winning The CAAV John Neason Diversification Award 2019.

Following Mark was Susie Murray, Stephens Scown LLP, who is a real natural on stage, announcing our well-deserved winners up to collect their trophies. Well done to all of those who made it to the finals and a huge congratulations to our winners of 2019.

This year we would like to give a special ‘Thank You’ to our main sponsors Stephens Scown, all of our category sponsors, the DCAA and the Showground, Gray’s Country Gifts, Manteux Clothing, Langham Wines, Exeter Golf Club, Deer Park Country House, Barclays Bank, Kivells, Bartletts Farm Shop, Royal Cornwall Show, Exeter Chiefs, Darts Farm Shop and Saunton Sands Hotels.

Thank you to the outstanding James Morrish from Kivells for doing a wonderfully charming job of compering the evening and thank you to the NFU President, Minette Batters, for an inspirational and extremely motivational resume of British agriculture.

The awards may have been and gone for this year, but we are still very busy here at the Addington Fund. Click here for more information about which shows we are attending and what we have coming up next.
